What was your inspiration?

I felt inspired by Art Nouveau jewelry and sculpture.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Relax and take your time when working with metal clay. Always remember that you can work in layers and keep adding more to the piece you are working on. I will let my pieces dry in stages... rough in the general shapes, let dry. Start adding more detail, let dry. Add some more detail, let dry. Keep going like that until the piece is at place where you are happy with it. When I first started working with silver clay I would try to finish the piece all in one shot before it dried... this would just make me feel rushed and stressed out... and ended up with a piece I wasn't completely happy with. Now I try to be more Zen about my approach and take my time. :)

Very nice!! I worked on two clay pieces Thursday and hope to finish them up and get them in the kiln today. Will be my first time firing in my new kiln (Paragon SC2), so I will post pics if they turn out! Thanks for the inspiration!

Thank you so much for the awesome compliment :) Can't wait to see how your pieces turn out. I'm so jealous, would love to have a kiln some day, currently I fire everything on my gas stove :D
