What materials did you use? Batik 10" squares

What advice would you give someone starting this project? This is my first "pancake" and even though it looks okay, I had my problems. I had a stack of 10" batik squares so I thought I'd try to make a larger block and did 2 1/2" cuts instead of the 2". There was no way I was going to get an 11" finish out of this so I made it smaller. Guess the dog gets this one. :D Now that I've made one, I'm satisfied to take Anita's advice and use the 10" squares to make a finished 10".

Thanks. I like those colors, too, but I'm using a layer cake of batiks so that's the only one with that combo. And I messed up the size to boot. Oh, well.
