Category: Crocheting
Type of item: Toy
For: Children
Style: Whimsical, Cute
Materials
| used mostly acrylic yarn for the body, hair and fins. I had some specialty sparkly yarn that i used for the tail, shirt, and streaks in the hair. I also used some pearl beads for the embroidered detailing (earrings, necklace and fins) Lastly, polyester fiberfill for the body.
What was your inspiration?
My daughter and I love mermaids and especially Disney's Ariel. I asked Emma which kind of doll she wanted, and she asked for a mermaid.
What are you most proud of?
I love the look of the stiches in the tail with the sparkle that makes it look like real scales. Her hair also turned out really nicely.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
go slow and pay attention to the little details. that is what really makes a finished project shine
