What was your inspiration?

For the replacement of the sunny with a chance of hex block, I wanted to do the atom for caffeine (what can I say? I love my coffee!) but it would have used more than a 12.5"x12.5" square. So I just kinda went with the shapes and came up with what I have.

What are you most proud of?

I am pretty proud of all of it actually. the stripe one was a little difficult because my sewing machine was not working (the tension was just way off). I am not a fan of doing anything by hand, but I feel I did a good job putting all the kexies together.

I am also pretty proud of my fussy cutting of the owl. :)

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Just do it. If you don't like applique (like me) and don't like doing things by hand (my wrist still hurts), just do it. Like I tell my students, the sooner you do it, the sooner it gets done.
