What are you most proud of?

I finished it. English paper piecing is not my thing.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Give English paper piecing a try. It is always great to learn a new technique

Absolutely love your hexagon flag. Is the white star made using diamonds, like the hexagons? Or is it one piece of white fabric behind the hexagons? Just need to make this one. Thanks for sharing.

What a magnificent way to use the English Paperpiecing. I love the star formation within the blue portion of the block.

Thanks for sharing that great tip. I can see how that would help with the alignment. Yours look perfectly straight, but I can relate to the feeling of having a piece off drive me crazy, Your quilt is going to be beautiful.

These are stunning. You are so creative. I love the stars that form from the placement of your hexagons. Do you have a trick for lining them up so accurately?

I basted all the points together. Then I used a ton of pins. After I posted I noticed the middle hex on the top row was crooked. So I undid that one and straightened up. I knew it would drive me crazy.

It looks like hexies ARE your thing. Both blocks are wonderful. The stars & stripes block is the most creative block yet. I love it.

Love both your blocks. When I tally up all those hexis to make the stars it makes my hands ache, not to mention I think I'd get a headache. Very creative!

The flag is great! I would try to make one as well, but I found that I don't care for English paper piecing either.
