What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I used a lightweight cardboard for the paper piecing. It was a little hard to sew. For my next block I'll try a lighter weight. I'll try someone's suggestion of using the little cards that come in magazines to order subscriptions. This was a challenging block for me. I chose to fussy cut the fabric to get the design in the middle of my hexagon. This wasted a little more fabric and made it a little bit harder.

Thank-you. I found this block to be quite a challenge. I don't sew by hand very much so I guess I needed the practice. I did everything from poke my finger so hard with the needle that it hurt for days to accidentally sewing the block onto my pyjamas that I was wearing! Getting a compliment makes it seem sweeter!

I love the way the flowers' vines seem to intertwine. It was worth the extra work!
