I used a slash step as in the first blocks and then placed the hexagons as I wanted. Just be sure to leave extra fabric when inserting a curved slash. I had to add some fabric to get a 12" square.Difficulty:

wanted to do something different and the bugs several others made brought to mind the fabrics I had.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Be sure to use extra background fabric before cutting to size. I ran short as the curved pieces made the shape all wonky and I had to add a strip on the side to make a square.
