Instructions

Purchase 2 t shirts, same size, make a stencil or buy something you like. Use the soft paints and stencil your shirt. Let dry, put second shirt under top shirt and pin in place. Using embroidery floss sew around the painted edge, then cut away 1/4 inch in so the second shirt shows. Use a running stitch and let your knots and ends show, part of the look. I can see that Alabama Chanin is your inspiration, since I bought the book that has the instructions for this particular method of reverse applique' as well as the exact stencil you show on your garment.

not sure what happened, but I'm doing a larger stem and leaf design all over the skirt all white, I think she does some very wonderful items, she is a great inspiration. and I hope she can revitalize her area with her craft!!!
