What was your inspiration?

I wanted to make a quilt for my friend Teri to keep at her cottage. Teri picked most of the fabrics to coordinate with the cottage decor, and the basic applique part, and I surprised her with the rest.

What are you most proud of?

This is one of my few applique projects, and I think it turned out fairly well. I also used my quilting machine to quilt some sayings into the quilt, such as "If friends were flowers, I'd pick you." Overall, this is one of my favorite quilts that I've made.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Don't be afraid to try something different ... it usually works out better than you think! :-)
