What are you most proud of? I am pleased with my first try at Appliqué using the button hole stiching.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Use adhesive... as you can see my hands are not lying completely flat. I have now bought some for my next project.

Would it be better to use freezer paper to draw the hand print on and then iron on the material and then cut instead of using adhesive? I know for small items adhesive is great!

Thanks Diane, I have now used adhesive, HeatnBond and also freezer paper... all of which I love. I have found for tiny pieces it is better to use freezer paper or HeatnBond. Thanks for the advice:)

If I had have positioned my hands in the shape of a heart it would be perfect for a valentine wall hanging.... Great idea:)

How did I miss your applique practice? It looks good, I think! Since you feel the hands are not flat on the background, is it too late to suggest filling the hands only with puffy batting/filling so they stand out like trapunto? Just a thought. Cheers, Desna!
