To get the most out of my fat quarters I cut my apple cores very close to each other, leaving perfect petal pieces - I decided to make applique flowers on top of the quilt with them:) I ironed them on with wonder under and used a zigzag stitch around with just the batting behind the top. Jenny's easy tutorial! and my beautiful batiks:)
What are you most proud of?
How it turned out - It is 62' X 68", just kind of eye-balled it. I'm giving it to my parents for their 49th wedding anniversary. Mom gave me the gift of sewing with a machine, and I wanted to give back to her. I think she will be surprised:)
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Get Quilting Quickly I and II, and Quilting Big Projects on a Small Machine. They really helped me out!
