What are you most proud of? I am proud of the fact that several people that have seen the photo thought that the roses were real.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Watch the entire video before starting any segment of the project and have your materials ready to go. Definitely use less tylose if adding a lot of color to the gumpaste, and plan ahead because the gumpaste definitely needs to rest overnight.

Just beautiful. Did you put calyx on the back of all the roses or just the buds?

Thanks! I did put calyx on all the roses. I wasn't sure what was going to be visible after completion. I didn't get as detailed on the calyx as is taught though, due to time restraints and I knew they wouldn't be seen so much.

just beautiful! i have a question, did you secure the flowers with straws or anything? and also did you put the straws/wires into the cake on an angle? thanks!

Glad you like it! I formed the roses on 18 gauge wire and stuck them directly in the cake. I didn't bend any of the wires so they were only at an angle depending on the angle of the rose on the cake. I did secure them with a little bit of royal icing since I had it on hand from piping the swirls onto the fondant, but the flowers were amazingly stable beforehand. I wanted to be sure they didn't start to droop though so I used the icing and had no problems.

Thank you! I am doing a cake with a few peonies on a buttercream cake and was a little concerned about the weight of the flowers pulling through the cake. Advice?

I am not sure how heavy or large you peonies will be but anytime I attach something like that to buttercream I have it attached to a skewer that I stick into the cake and use buttercream to "glue" it to the cake. I also let the cake chill in the fridge beforehand to stiffen the icing. I would also use a stiffer american style buttercream to keep it from sliding. Hope that helps!
