What materials did you use? Cotton jersey, Button and Craft thread, seed and bugle beads. I had some bead troubles on this one, but found a solution, all of the details are blogged:

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Be sure your grainlines for both layers match perfectly to be sure you have sufficient stretch. If your grain is askew you lose the give and it may not fit. I suggest if you plan to make an embellished poncho, baste all the edges together and the one seam to check the fit. I would even suggest adding about 4 inches to the length which I think takes it to 58 inches.

I am seriously thinking about taking this Craftsy class. Your Poncho is a really beautiful piece of Textile Art. Good work.

Very nicely done. Are you planning on leaving some of the stencil as is or will you be doing more work on the piece? I actually think it could work well to leave some of it stenciled only. Great job.

Beautiful!! If I could only figure out how to fold it I might be able to complete this one!! I will freely admit to being baffled by the instructions n the book!!! LOL!

Your poncho is gorgeous. Such a good point about adding length, and checking the fit first. I did all the applique work on mine just to find out at the end that it didn't fit.
