What materials did you use? Variety of different colorful fabrics.

What are you most proud of? Completing the quilt top. It feels good to get this far along in the project. I wanted to wait and just publish the picture of the quilt once I actually finished quilting it... but I couldn't wait. I was so excited that I have accomplished this much!

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Use lots of different fabrics in a variety of different color intensities. At first I choose a bunch of light colors. I could see after a few blocks that it needed more colors. Back to the store I went. (Since I am pretty new at quilting I don't just have a stash I can pull from at home.) Once I got more colors I was happier with the result. There are a couple of blocks that have very low contrast because both colors used were so light. I struggled with deciding if I should include them or not. In the end I decided I really liked the blocks and I just didn't want to leave them out. Although they do not have much contrast I find them interesting. Now I just have to decide how I want to quilt it!

Very nice Gloria! I'm glad you included the lighter blocks - they break things up and result is a nice balanced movement. Well done!!
