What was your inspiration?

Was working my first craft fair one weekend and had just found this adorable pattern, so I worked it up at the fair, knowing you can never have enough little girl dresses hanging around for sale as cute as this one. The headband I just whipped up myself, and is not included in the pattern.

What are you most proud of?

Its so cute.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I made a few very slight variations:
*This project was made with medium worsted weight yarn that calls for a size I hook, rather than the size yarn and hook called for in the instructions. Doing this made the final piece a larger sizer than what it states, which is what I wanted.
*Rather than one side being left open as a pinafore is, I allowed a few rows open for buttoning/unbuttoning, and then joined the two sides together and kept crocheting row upon row around and joining as I went. This made it more of a dress than a pinafore.
*If I followed the last row per the instructions, it would have appeared too bulky, esp with the heavier yarn. I did something like this to add a finishing touch to it that would compliment it: sc, ch 2, (sc, ch1) 3x in ch sp, ch 2 around.

I would recommend making the pattern as written once, making notes as to where you could alter the stich count to make the next one the size you need. I really cant tell you exactly, unless I did so myself, but find the measurements for the size you need. And as you make each row, continue to increase the width until you feel it is at an appropriate flair. I dont know if this helps, but I hope it does.

Do you have instructions for 6 to 9 months?

No, the pattern available is only for newborn to three months. However, try making the pattern with the next size hook and/or with a size 4 medium weight yarn that calls for an h hook. That might make it just a bit bigger for you.

I'm going to be making this one in lavendar and white. The new mommy doesn't like pink. LOL. And I'm decorating a onesie to go under it with crocheted ruffles on the butt and around the sleeves. The onesie is white with lavendar ruffles.

Click the "file" menu on the top left of your computer screen to get to your print menu tab You have to print this directly from off the blog.

You have to print it from directly off of your computer-usually a little tab on the upper left side of your computer screen somewhere. For me, I left click the word "file" and a drob down tab will open, and there I find "print".

You did an Beautiful job on this dress & headband. I adore the colors. It is just absolutely Stunning. I especially love the headband. Too bad you don't have a pattern written out for the headband and flower.
