What materials did you use? A superfine merino lace weight, hand dyed in blues, grey greens, violets, seagreens, wooden balls, beadsoup consisting of leftovers - seed beads, pearls, turquoise rounds, czech, drops around 2 - 4 mm.

What are you most proud of? That I gave this a go. What I wanted to do was a big spiral around the bead, it looked like a bad hair cut with a number 2 sheep shaver. But I am proud to say I did not give up, or get deflated. I am playing more with my idea of randomness, maybe with a linen stitch for texture.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Never expect perfection, Laugh and don't be afraid to rip it out and start again.

Bianca! So quick to judge your own work..... I think this is wonderful! I love the fact that you make bold choices and are not afraid to rip out and try again, but I have to tell you, I think this is way cool..... Love the colors and the variety in the bead soup. Keep playing with this one. It has lots of potential.

Bianca: Your sea snake really caught my eye. I love it's unusual form and the colors. Don't stop! Right away it reminded me of the kelp washed up on Oregon beaches. Love it! Dragonfly

Ah Betsy, Caught :). After 12 years of creating with beadwork, I know that not all pieces are masterpieces and I shouldn't get too attached to the outcome. I undid the beaded rows then started again with a few rows of beaded rows around the perimeter, still not regular, I increased the rows by bead in the snake. That works better. I am playing, trust me.
