An Elephant Never Forgets

Pieced back

Instructions

I cut 2 inch strips of fabric and sewed them together in sets of four. The sets of four were then cut into 2 inch strips and randomly sewn together in 16 patch blocks. I cut 1 1/2 strips of the grey for sashing and 2 1/2 inch strips for borders.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Infant/Baby

Style: Traditional, Cute

Materials

Reunion fabric by Sweetwater for Moda, Thread, batting,

What was your inspiration?

I had a Moda Scrap Bag with these fabrics that I wanted to make a quilt out of. I ended up adding the grey and elephans and love it!

What are you most proud of?

That I was able to take a yard of fabric and managed to stretch it enough to use it for the backing!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Sometimes you just have to start cutting and sewing and let it inspire you!

So much fun to make something like this. Modern fabrics give these vintage patterns a totally new look. Nice!
