Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Quick-Strip Paper Piecing »

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Girls

Style: Classic, Cute

What was your inspiration?

This course and Quickly Quilting II and a love of Amish style

What are you most proud of?

I was able to knowledge from two courses and make a quilt that I wanted. Six of the stars are paper pieced and six are strip pieced.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

It is not always necessary to follow what others do, you can take what you learn and put together something that you want.

What a beautiful quilt! I love the colors you chose and how they sparkle against the black. I have always loved Amish quilts, too - I grew up in Northeastern Ohio where there are still many Amish farms in the area. It's also wonderful that you used the quilt-as-you-go method; it makes the quilting so much more manageable!

Many thanks to yo for your comments and your inspiration. I love your course and have one more project to do, the New York Beauty. I have to get up enough nerve before I start the one.

Thank you. Yes, I did use a quilt as you go method, that I learned from Marguerita McManus.
