Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this piece. Used Albertain Veil to determine landscape perspective. This is a work in progress and I will continue, particularly in respect to atmospheric perspective. I think it looks a bit flat at this point, but I am hoping for Mr. Connors comment about the perspective.

This is an old Amish buggy with a house in the background, another house on the right, and two lines of laundry hanging on a clothes line.

Hello SistyKay, It is a delight to see how you and others are progressing. Congratulations on this formidable start. You are right, at this stage the drawing looks a bit flat and that is due to the start when all the tones are similar. From the image, it seems that you are working on paper that has a slight ochre hue or tint. Is that correct? If so, no matter the color of the paper, when you are working toned paper, do not neglect to use white [chalk, gouache, pencil] at the beginning to help with the projection of form and space. I look forward to seeing the posting of the next stage of this drawing.

It is white sketch paper - in fact I compared all the sketchbooks at Michaels to find the whitest paper. I think the darker tone is due to the digital image. I'll scan the next one to see if it improves the color of the paper.
