Instructions

Make sure to stuff body firmly, especially in the neck area, as head will wobble otherwise. Embellishments such as a beady necklace or bangles can be added, but extra care should be taken if toy is intended for young children.

Difficulty:

Category: Crocheting

Type of item: Toy

For: Unisex

Style: Whimsical, Cute

Materials

Robin Double Knit 100% acrylic in turquoise, beige, pink and orange, glass eyes and a 3 1/3 crochet hook.

What was your inspiration?

I've always loved Disney's ''The Little Mermaid' film and I really wanted to have a go at designing my own.

What are you most proud of?

It is my own design! It took me ages to write it and type it all up, but I think it's turned out quite well. This is only my second amigurumi design (the first being Octavia the Octopus).

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Make sure to stuff body at different stages, as pattern widens and narrows and it can be difficult to get your fingers inside if left till the end, especially the flippers, the neck and the arms.

Thank you, Ladymax. It took me a whole week to complete (try and error) and over 2 hours to type up pattern, but I am really glad I did it. Don't know what to design next, but I love the sea! How are you doing?
