Instructions

Although I found the instructions on the book (Crocheted Softies by Stacey Trock) easy to follow, the small legs can be fiddly in the early stages, but they get easier after round 3 or 4. I went by length of leg rather than number of rows and MAKE SURE YOU LEAVE A LONG TAIL when you cut off yarn after finishing each leg to attach to body, as I forgot a couple of times!

Difficulty:

Category: Crocheting

Type of item: Toy

For: Unisex

Style: Cute, Whimsical

Materials

Sirdar Snuggly Double Knitting

What was your inspiration?

Crocheted toys for my motorhome.

What are you most proud of?

I took me under a week to make.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Have fun with it. Make sure you leave a long piece of yarn after finishing each body part (eyes, claws, legs) as you'll need it to attach to shell. Also mark beginning of each row for each body part with a different colour thread, a safety pin or other kind of marker, as it is hard to know when a row ends and a new one starts.
