What was your inspiration?

I am just learning to wire wrap and I wanted to find small projects to practice on and get used to working with wire. I have done some plain wraps like in my Blue Goldstone necklace project but wanted a tutorial to learn tips and terminology. I found the Jewelry Lessons site and lots of free tutorials. The ring was the idea in the tut.

What are you most proud of?

This was very easy to learn and I love that the very first one I tried turned out almost perfect. I am a stickler for details and was worried about marring the wire and not getting the wraps to look even but I am very happy with how it turned out and I haven't taken it off and I don't plan too either! I have now made about 8 rings all a little different, there are a couple for sale in my Art Fire shop and a couple newer ones in my Etsy shop. It is so fun to make these! I am moving on to more complex projects with wire.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This tutorial is very easy but learn what the different gauges and soft, half hard and hard wire is and how it differs. Practice on copper wire before using silver filled or sterling silver wire.
