Alice (original Susie Hoodie)

What was your inspiration?
Taking the course Curvy Knits gave me the information I needed to modify this pattern and challenged me to make it for my sister who is a very curvy lady. She loves the final results.
What are you most proud of?
That it actually fits her. It is not apparent in the pictures I took but it really does fit all across the front. The temperature was in the 90's when I took them and wearing a worsted weight sweater for 5 minutes or more was a lot to ask.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Make your guage swatch, block and measure. Make at least a 6x6 swatch. This is really important if you are modifying the pattern the way I did so that you have sufficient yarn to complete the sweater. I have 2 extra balls of yarn and needed 15 balls to complete the sweater with about one yard leftover. I left out the waist increases in the pattern and had to recalculate the decreases in order to make the bust the correct size, recalculate the raglan shaping for the sleeves as well as front and back. It may have been easier to design my own pattern.
