In looking at my notes, the foundation squares, old fabric or muslin are all cut 5.5".The top squares are all cut 6". You place the muslin square on bottom and the top fabric on top of the muslin right sides up and sew around three sides, making a pleat in center top fabric, chain piece these, then you add fiberfill to each puff and sew the open side up. this quilt is built in rows. for this quilt I used 8 colors.I went through 7 yards of muslin.I designed my color way on graph paper. I hope this helps.

I've done one of these before only much smaller. After that I tried to do one in satin and was going alone pretty well when our house burned down. Never had the heart to try it again.

Is there a pattern? I would like to give this a try. Love the puffy-ness.
