Album of Memories

Pattern Info

Pattern info for this project can be found here:
McCall's Quilting Magazine/ April 2001

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Romantic, Classic, Traditional

Materials

LOTS of cotton fabric, Luckily I have a huge stash.

What was your inspiration?

Mr. Callahan's design.

What are you most proud of?

I was new to applique but I did it. I still have to quilt it and that will be the next thing on my never ending list of things to do.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I did NOT do the quilt EXACTLY like his design. I took the blocks I liked then made the quilt larger by adding more borders , So it's okay if you change things around a bit. That just makes it more yours and it also fitted the bed. I'm not into hanging quilts. I want funtionality plus beauty.
Take your time and enjoy the creation.

Hi there, what a lovely job you've done. I'm just learning to machine quilt via a lesson here on craftsy and it's so worth it. Your quilt will be wonderful...love the colours also and look forward to seeing it when it's quilted.

Very pretty, I really like your choices of fabrics. Did you do needle turn or fuse on your applique? What size did you come out with? This is a really pretty quilt. Thanks for sharing.

Sorry I'm still learning how to use this! I did both fusing and needle turn. I started with needle turn but after a few blocks I started to fuse. Everything I fused, I sewed the fusing material so the edges of the fabric did turn in. Glad you liked it.
