What materials did you use? 2 yards 1 of red and 1 of charcoal rayon blend Ponte. Long sleeve T shirt pattern from AC Design and Style book.

What are you most proud of? How nice it turned out. Why I call it AC cheating is because I assembled the dress on my machine and trimmed it by hand. Actually the idea came to me just yesterday. I had already made the shirt and loved the fit and ease of assembly, I needed a dress for a Christmas party tonight, and I have been wondering what to do with this beautiful fabric with only one yard of each. Actually I think from now on I will cheat on all my AC garments due to my painful arthritis in my hands and wrists. What I will do is main assembly by machine, then hand fell the seams and embellishments, I did my t shirt that way and you really can't tell I cheated.

It works; very Xmasy and I'm sure you'll get compliments at the party!

It looks lovely...I also am tempted to cheat as button craft thread is hard to source in the UK!

Thank you ladies for your compliments, someone spilled red wine on my back last night and I'm having a heck of a time getting it all our. Shattered ripple, I did not have matching button thread for the trim hand stitching so I used 2 strands equaling 4 layers of all purposes thread and it looks fine

Your dress looks great! Often 'simple' looks really smart and you certainly pulled it off here. I agree that combining methods and different fabrics works too.

Thank you!

I Love the simplicity of this! I too have "cheated" by machine stitching seams and then felled the seams by hand. This really is beautiful, great job.

Thanks Sylvia! I have arthritis in my hands and this saves me so much work to assemble what I can with my machine.

Great use of your limited quantity of fabric, and I think color-blocking is very on-trend. I admit I've machine sewn a few seams on my AC garments when I'm in a hurry. There's still plenty of handwork to be proud of!

thanks Faux mom, you are right on with the fact there is still plenty of hand work.

thank you Faux mom

Soak it in water & oxy clean. It gets out red wine & everything else. I have even used it on wool & vintage silk.

I did get it out....finally! I love your profile art photo! Wherein Maryland are you, I am near BWI.
