this is part of a 5 beret set i had designed in 2008.it was all in one pattern.
I am splitting up the patterns to be individual.
You can still buy the whole set as well.

Materials
I suggest a worsted weight wool. Sample uses; Gems worsted wt. by Louet, 100gr/175yd skeins, 2 - colored beret; 1 skein in CC, 1 skein in MC Multi - colored beret; 1 skein CC, 30gr of 6 colors for MC.
What was your inspiration?
To be able to have panels of different colors in the crown.
As well as having designs in the brim.
What are you most proud of?
That so many colors can be used in one hat....and the "button" on the top.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
It could help to have a row counter as you work the main body of this.
