Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this cake: This was one of the first airbrush projects I have ever attempted. This class taught me a lot, but I need to practice more to perfect the technique. I found the airbrushing class to be one of the most valuable I have taken on Craftsy. I am a Culinary school graduate and I wasn't given any instruction in the art of airbrushing by my baking and pastry instructor, so this was huge for me and will help my cake business tremendously. Thanks for a great class!

What are you most proud of? That it came out so well for a first attempt.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Make sure you get the braided cord and couplings that she suggests! I got the cord but forgot the couplings and had to use the twisted (old style telephone type) cord that came with my compressor. It was a total pain to use that twisty cord!

For a first attempt this is amazing. You must be very proud of it. Congratulations for mastering the technique.

What a fun cake! And, yes.... the telephone cord air hoses would be banished if I had my way!

They were plastic...the customer wasn't going to pay me to make models...she wanted it made the cheapest way...I would do a lot of things different on this cake now, but like I said for a first try with an airbrush and keeping it as cheap as possible as per my customers wish, it turned out ok. Thanks for the kind words...every cake is a learning process and I learned a lot making this one.

hi ms debb my great grandson lives for tommy and this other trains - his birthday is may5th and I am going to attempt to make a cake like this or similar to for his birthday my question is was it hard to make the train on the tracks or is this a plastic model -

These were plastic trains, the customer didn't want to pay for custom models. If you are good at modeling, you can pretty easily do them in modeling chocolate or gumpaste. Good luck send me a pic of you cake when finished.
