What was your inspiration?
This is our granddaughters high school graduation quilt. She went on a mission trip to Africa in her Junior year and loved the African culture; she plans another mission trip this year as well. After listening to her talk about Africa, I came up with the idea to make her gradution quilt with an African theme. I have special fabric to make a "tote" for her quilt, I'll post it when I have it completed. I'm so excited to see her reaction when she sees her special quilt, but I'll have to wait until May for her graduation.
What are you most proud of?
I'm mostly a 'scrappy quilter' ~ we have 16 grandchildern and I've made each of them a graduation quilt. The ten grandson's have all gotten reclycled denim scrappy quilts, but have tried to theme the girls quilts. I have special fabric to make a matching "tote" for this quilt. I'll post it when I have it completed. I'm so excited to see her reaction when she sees her quilt, but I'll have to wait until Mary for her graduation. Her Mom says she's going to LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I hope she's right! =)
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Stitch it with love, it will end up perfect!!
