Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Bead & Tapestry Cuffs »

Instructions

This is my second finished try. This time I double-warped it, which I think gives it a cleaner edge.

Difficulty:

Category: Jewelry

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Materials

Silk/cotton blend yarn, Railroad track/trellis/ladder yarn, Toho size 8 and 11 beads,

What was your inspiration?

Excellent instruction by Claudia Chase. And I can start using stuff from my stash.

What are you most proud of?

I think it will be when I learn to white-balance my camera and can photograph purple, but stay tuned:)

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Make sure you set up someplace comfortable where you're not hunched over. I also second the advice about using good light.

This technique seems to be very forgiving. I have some beads in my stash that don't meet my standards for regular beadwork but I think they'd be fine surrounded by fiber. Watch out for sharp edges on beads though.

It is a fun class! You have done so many things already, and so much variety. I love the way you're mixing things up. They're all great, but I have a special love for Miyuki 401FR, which I think you used for your cube bracelet?

This is beautiful! The texture and color pattern from thr project are very peaceful and in my eyes retro. As a child of the 970's I would like to say, "more power to you" and wonderful work.
