Instructions

Two plies of the floss were much more cooperative than six--especially for burying the ends. Use a drop of Fray Check on the end of the metallic thread every time you cut it to avoid fraying like a mofo. Materials

Perle cotton for warp and 2 plies of silk embroidery floss and Kreinik metallic tapestry thread for weft. Shiny Miyuki size 8/0 seed beads in 3 colors. Done on my Schacht Flip Rigid Heddle loom.

What was your inspiration?

Aforementioned Cuff sighting at Stitches East.

What are you most proud of?

Color choices and improved selvedges.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

To avoid ends unworking themselves, don't change threads right before or after beaded rows.

This is gorgeous! I've been having some problems getting my ends to stay neat and tightly secured, too - I hadn't thought about the possibility that changing weft thread next to one of the beaded rows might be helping to cause that problem, so thanks for that tip. :)

Thanks! I tried a few different things with the ends until I found what seems to work best for me, which is changing in the middle of the row and weaving in afterward. A little more labor intensive, but it's worth it for the cleaner selvedges.
