What was your inspiration?
My mother in law has bought an Advent Calendar for my girls for as long as I can remember (I think even before they could eat chocolate!), now that they are in their 20's and one a mother herself I thought it was time to have a calendar that could have a little more variety (other than chocolates - my grandson is just a little bit too young; fruit bars are much more appropriate, or perhaps his Pa will put a matchbox car in every other day).
What are you most proud of?
Machine stitching with metallic thread wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. A really good quality thread and a needle with a very large eye - my machine handled it perfectly.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Be patient when getting the correct tension for the thread - it can take time but the result is certainly worth it.
