Absolutely Love It! So pretty!!
Beautiful Accola!

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Knitting With Beads »

Instructions

I made this exactly as the pattern said only I did not do the Nupps in the center panel. I did do them on the edge. I just really liked the look of the center panel better without the nupps. Just a personal preferance.

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Romantic

Materials

Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock Color 809 Midway 80% Superwash Merino Wool 20% Nylong

What was your inspiration?

I have had an interest in knitting with beads for a while now and when Craftsy offered this class I was so happy! When I saw Accola I knew I just had to learn this beautiful craft of Knitting With Beads.

What are you most proud of?

I have to admit that I just about gave up and quit, but with Laura's encouragment I kept trying and practicing and, well as you can see I finished the project and I am so glad that I did. I could not have done it without Laura's help. If I can do this project, anyone can!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Practice the center panel several times before starting. For me it went from work to fun! So much fun that I've actually started another Accola! I love this shawl, so beautiful. So, practice alot before starting, I know we all can't wait to start the actual project, but practicing the center panel several times before starting would be the best advice I can give. I had to do it probably 6 times before I got the courage to begin, but it was well worth it. I did not want to make a mistake in the center panel. You can do this!

The workmanship and yarn are absolutely beautiful. You did an amazing job. I am about to begin this pattern and this picture is an inspiration. What yarn did you use?

Lorna's Lace Shepherds Sock, the color is Midway, it's actually the exact yarn that Laura used for the small Accola.

This is really a very beautiful Accola-shawl! It looks very nice and perfect, like knitted by a professional! Congratulations ! I am about to start mine, after practicing the center panel with several bead-variations a couple times.
