|Here are some details about my project:|
What materials did you use? AC cotton jersey, dark grey & medium grey embroidery floss, dark grey AC sequins, grey button craft thread
What are you most proud of? I made this as a gift for my Sister-In-Law. 23 of us are converging at their Gettysburg farm for Thanksgiving and this is a hostess gift.
What advice would you give someone starting this project? This project is great way to use AC scraps, even tiny ones will work for the petals of the doily. I found it easier and faster to embroider the eyelets and then sew the petals onto the base. Also the bottom corners of each petal should be aligned with the 1/2 inch seam allowance so that the corners are caught between the two layers of fabric. The middle of the petal will be about 1/16 inch over the SA but everything will be neatly enclosed. I had to double pin the petals to keep them in the right spot as worked around the circle. This is a quick project and now that I've used up all of my AC fabric I can order more! :)
