A Start on my Spring Garde

1st Layer

1st Layer

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Big Techniques from Small Scraps »

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Mod

Materials

So far Michael Miller's "Cocoa Berry" fabric then "Lucy's Crab Shack" for the petals

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I may undo the centre and re-do because I can see the fold from the fabric, and I don't think I had it quite centred properly.

The heart is part of the fabric and I cut a circle around it and appliqued to the centre. Of course I don't mind if you use the same idea :). I ended up using some spray starch and it looks fine now.. thanks for all the suggestions

Did you applique the heart to the circle? Or is it part of the Circle fabric? Whichever it is- I love it!! I have a bit of small pieces of fabric that I Can't bring myself to toss out - so if you don't mind, may I use Your idea and put hearts in the center of my Plain centers?

...or you must mean vertically? Well I think it's fine that way too. I would just press the one crease and move on. Or should I say press on!

Amen, sister! We are far too critical of ourselves!

Can't you just turn the wheel to center the heart? I think it looks fine.

I find that "Best Press" takes out the folds in the fabric - try it before you unpick. You have done a good job.
