What was your inspiration?

The original, more autumnal toned placemat was made with Thanksgiving in mind. If you look closely you'll notice that the two of the red fabrics actually have chairs on them and that the plus is wood grain - I used those fabrics to represent sitting down at the table for Thanksgiving. I approached Quilts & More with this original placemat and they asked for ones in more cheerful colours for Spring so that is how those came about (both are shown in the magazine, but the spring-coloured ones are the focus).

What are you most proud of?

This was actually my first project to ever be accepted by a magazine (it took over 18 months to actually be published so it wasn't the first there, but it was the first to be accepted).

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Really super-easy! Pick fabrics either centred around a specific holiday/event/season, or that match your own decor and just go for it!

Love it (or them)! How fun is that to get published in a magazine!
