I haven't found a back material for it yet.
I used every scrap of these colors making the blocks and joining them up.
I even used the littlest pieces on the wonky log cabin block.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Children

Materials

I used 6 Blocks of the months. #7 April Block of the Month.1 #8 April Block of the Month.1 #8 April Block of the Month.2 #8 April Block of the Month.3 #7 April Block of the Month.3 #9 May Block of the Month.2 I joined the blocks with 4 1/2" strips.

What was your inspiration?

All the great blocks of the month.
Sunshine and flowers and a great collection of material.

What are you most proud of?

I got at a garage sale in 2006 !00% cotton flour sacks, salt sacks, sugar sacks and soome wool yarn. I carefully took them apart and embarked on my first adventure in dying material. For ever more I will wear gloves because it took a week to get the dye out of my hands.
The joining material for this quilt top is from this material I dyed myself made from that lot.
The flowered material I used in the hexicons I re used a sturdy dress I got from the thrift store.
The batik material used in some of the blocks was given me by my friend from her scrap stash.
The light green came from an attractive fat quater I bought a long time ago to make landscape quilts, to fussy cut leaves from. I wished I had bought more fat quarters.
One of my neighbors was moving to a nursing home and unloaded her sewing stuff on me and the dark tuquoise cotton came from that.
Every so often I go through stuff and match things up.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This has been a great coarse for inspiration to put my material collected together.
Even though I'm not new to quilting I have learned so much so far. I have learned better techniques than I knew before. Love this course.
