This is my first attempt at fractal spinning, and I guess I won't know how successful it is until I crochet or knit up a swatch! I split the fibre braid in half (more or less), and split one of the halves in half again (more or less). I spun the big lump of fluff onto one spindle, and spun the other two lumps separately on another, lighter spindle... just playing with weight. I found my singles were more or less consistent, even using the two differently weighted spindles. I two plied the singles together, and found that I had some leftover.
So... I got 219 m of 2 ply fractally spun yarn, 20 wpi, weighing 68 g. I chain plied the remaining leftover singles and it became 86 m of 14 wpi, weighing 48 g.This is my first attempt at fractal spinning, and I guess I won't know how successful it is until I crochet or knit up a swatch! If you can produce such beautiful results with a spindle you shouldn't be afraid of a wheel. I can spin on the wheel but find the spindle a real challenge. :)
