Hi - I'm running behind schedule with the posting - but can give you a general idea here. The feather is needle-felted using both roving and yarn left over from the hat. I started by making a rounded up-side-down heart shape for the center of the feather and adding rings around it. Get a peacock feather picture for ideas on color. To get the feathery outside edges, I used very wispy bits of brown roving combined with a bit of bronze Angelina fiber. I also added some Angelina fiber in blue and green to the center needle-felting. The feather spine is just a bit of black yarn.
