What was your inspiration?
My mother, having a souvenir you might say, of her relationship with my father (not that she needed any reminder), to display at his memorial and to keep in her apartment, afterwards. I of course included their dating period, grandchildren, his office and co-workers, family pets, me - his only child. He was very attractive and I thought he looked like someone from the tv show 'Mad Men' and included a picture of him from that same era, where he happened to be in Germany, in the right hand corner.
What are you most proud of?
That she loved it and that it turned out so well. She keeps it in her bedroom now.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Be classy, not cheesy, if I may say so. Some may want to run in chronological order, I just used the most attractive pictures I had which would have made my mother happy. Make your statement and then bow out.
