Just measure twice, cut once before constructing. Pieces painted with exterior latex w/built-in primer and joined with galvanized deck screws. Measure your space to determine height and width. Determine spacing of lumber to form squares or rectangles, like 9". Then cut 9" spacers to make construction easier.
