This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Craftsy Block of the Month 2012 »

Instructions

When I construct my totes I put lots of pockets in them.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

For: Other

Materials

Two blocks of A Greek Cross #11 June BOM I used the cross print and the stripe print as well as the background plain material for constructing the tote bag.

What was your inspiration?

The block and the quilt I made from this block.
A Greek Cross #11 June BOM.
My favorite tote pattern.

What are you most proud of?

I quilted each of the sides of the bag. I added pockets to the lining of the bag and then put it together.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Have a favorite tote pattern and add your quilt block to the sides.

I would have never thought of this. I am learning from a lot of you to "think out of the box". Thank you.

Do you have any idea how many bags I have made and how many are in the works? I don't, but this is now on the list.

I find Bags easy to make. I have about 7 patterns and then I individually adapt them. I have tried about 30 different patterns of bags, totes and portable pockets. I have chosen 7 that I continue to make over and over again.
