What was your inspiration?

A painting of the same name by the artist Jerome

What are you most proud of?

That I created this picture using finished 1 inch squares and its hanging in my Mom's living room.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Start with simple smaller scenes and bigger patches

Thank you for the info on dye markers and the link. I'll see if I can find that brand here in Australia. I bought your book , so I can study it before I start. Have you ever been to Australia?

I used Uchida/Marvy fabric dye markers - I can get them at Ben Franklin. My favorite is their Brush Marker. The crayons are just kids Crayola. I used them to intensify and highlight that palm plant behind the vase. If you want, find my Page on facebook. I pieced this quilt on a tear-away foundation. Its made of finished 1 inch squares of lots of different fabrics. I used a bit of white tulle over the distant water and dye markers to shade the vase. Because I piece on a foundation working with small squares of fabric is just as easy as using bigger squares, so I'm not as fanatical as I might seem! LOL! The way I use a foundation is explained in my book Watercolor Landscape Quilts. *Insert Shameless Plug* It is on sale now because it is going out of print. (I'm selling it for $5.95 at my site).
