What materials did you use? DMC Mouline Special Variegated Embroidery Floss in color 121 (blue) and Loops & Threads Embroidery Floss in color 812 (green). I used all 6 strands of the embroidery floss.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Definitely starch the finished bookmark if you make it in the same thread this thick. In a smaller size, it might be stiff enough, but in the unsplit embroidery thread, it definitely benefited from some stiffening. I used the highly precise starching method of squirting some Elmer's glue in my hand then dumping in a bit of water, mixing it up and then squishing the bookmark around in the mix before laying it on some foil to dry.

That's a very pretty design that I've not seen before. I like how the 2 colors are used to make the flowers stand out with the "leaves and stem" in between. Thanks for sharing your starching method, it looks like it worked very well.
