I am so proud of my first Art Quilt using techniques I wanted to learn how to accomplish. I feel confident that I can now create my own original designs from what I learned in this class.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Sign up for the class, watch the videos, take notes, ask questions you may have, play with your material and enjoy creating. The online support and answers to questions that are part of the online class are very helpful and supportive. I highly recommend this class.

The pattern for this piece was part of the Pictorial Quilting lesson by Wendy Butler Berns. She recommended using medium blue fabric. I laid out various blue material and picked a few pieces to use. After I sewed the pieces together I wanted a lighter shade on a few pieces so I got a fabric marker pen and made white dots on the pieces which lightened them. I will post the other art quilt I made using just the cloud material for the sky. Since it was cloud material I wondered how it would look as a whole cloth background.

I am wondering how you got the sky worked out that way. The choice of fabric is the key factor here. It is beautiful and great work!

Great choices of fabric, I love how the sky and grass look just like a picture and your flower is a beautiful color as well. Excellent job on your first one!

I love your fabric choices - the peachy flower and the butterfly border.
