Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this cake: A special Birthday cake made for my mum-in-law for her Birthday last month. I baked a vanilla cake with freeze dried strawberry pieces in a heart shaped cake mould for the bottom layer and baked a second cake with green cake pop balls in it. Used vanilla butter cream to join together and round the outside. I coloured some fondant icing purple and covered the cake, cut out small purple hearts out of fondant icing and attached round the base of the cake. I had previously made the flowers out of flowerpaste and the twisted green curls also out of flowerpaste, wrapped round a pencil and left to dry. An embossed fondant ribbon was layed over the cake and then flowers and curls attached.
What are you most proud of? The fact that my cake decorating is coming on leaps and bounds and I already have orders for three more Birthday cakes this month from my office work colleagues.
