Materials

Two project bags: one simple drawstring, one a box pouch, both made in 1970's brushed cotton and lined in soft pale eau-de-nil coloured satin, all materials from stash. Box pouch tutorial from SoChick! website.

What was your inspiration?

I have a collection of small project bags for my knitting made of vintage fabrics; I wanted to make something similar as a gift for a friend.

What are you most proud of?

I prepped and measured well, and did enough hand stitching to make these very good quality. They're only little bags, but both are carefully made and well finished!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Do a trial-run of the box pouch in fabric that isn't too precious first so you grasp the construction and the importance of precision in the measuring and seams. The pouch in the picture came out perfect but only because I'd done messy, wonky one before it!
