I sanded this original 1970s table down to the bare wood then gave it several coats of black paint (red for the under shelf) before sealing with clear varnish in a satin finish to protectDifficulty:

What was your inspiration?
I was inspired by the funky 'Austin Powers' decor in my dining room - I knew this futuristic table would look fab painted to compliment the colours in the wallpaper
What are you most proud of?
This only cost me 15 to buy in a junk shop and around 10 to do up but it provides a real talking point in my dining area
