What was your source for this sewing project?
Online Photo or Website
Name of website or photo BurdaStyle 3/2011
What materials did you use? Dutchess satin (dress), silk (lining), bridal tulle (petticoat), satin ribbon (roses on neckline)
What advice would you give someone starting this project? Take your time and make sure to get the fit right before you cut your lovely fabric. I made 3 test garments before I got it right. Also, investing in a good couture sewing techniques book (even better - a bridal one) is a huge help and makes a massive difference in the quality and comfort of the finished garment. This is especially important for a strapless dress - you don't want it falling down all the time! Gertie's Bombshell dress course is a great place to start too!
