What was your inspiration?
I started with the male figure which is meant to be our pastor(!), then the whole cake just grew from there to include his wife and daughter.
What are you most proud of?
That the models were actually recognised for who they were meant to represent!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Keep to what you know. I had recently completed a class on making models so was able to use the techniques I had learnt. I was also able to make the models well in advance so I wasn't rushed or panicking when finalising the cake. The advantage of making a cake such as this is being able to use the "features" to cover up any flaws in the cake!
